After Gore's receptions total plummeted last season, he's in for a decrease in carries and goal-line work with the addition of short-yardage specialist Brandon Jacobs and change-of-pace back LaMichael James. We'd advise steering clear of Gore at his current late-third round ADP.

Just as worrisome are Gore's lack of production in the passing game and the arrival of LaMichael James and potential goal-line horse Brandon Jacobs to go with talented second-year back Kendall Hunter. We fail to see the upside of drafting Gore at his current early fourth-round ADP.

Rotoworld ranks Gore just 22nd among fantasy backs this year.

Frank Gore (ribs) participated in 49ers practice Monday.

Gore has an especially long layoff to get his ribs back healthy between a Thursday nighter and this week's Monday Night Football matchup with the Cardinals. We fully expect to see him start against a weakening Arizona run defense.
